Headlight switch

I have a 98 pace arrow vision . The headlight switch doesn't allow the dash lights to come on so will replace the unit if I could figure out how the knob comes off. No set screw on the back and won't unthread. Any one change one and have any answers?

Most on dash headlight switches have a spring loaded button on the switch, that releases the knob and shaft.

Before you start on the switch, check the tailights. Most vehicles have a system that causes the dash lights to go out to alert you that you have a taillight out.

I agree with ga traveler , check your tail lights & fuses the dash light fuse and dimmer are a sub circuit of the tail lights .

The common headlight switch for MH's of our vintage , is from a mid 70's Chevy P/U and has a triangular shaft on the knob and a spring loaded release button behind the dash , that must be held in to remove it.
Release button on the bottom , way from wiring , I'll look for a picture that shows it.
