Headlights on and won't go off!

This morning we took the chassis batteries out to be tested. The headlights came on and wouldn't go off. We replaced the batteries and the headlights are still on. The bright light signal is on, on the dash but we're not sure that the headlights are actually on bright. We finally ended up finding some wires we could unplug to get them off but wondering if anyone has any idea why they are on. Thanks!

A few questions .
Is your coach equipped with a Smart Wheel for the dimmer switch control ?
Is your coach on a Freightliner chassis ?

Contact Spartan Motor home support , with your serial number .
1-800-543-4277
You need info on wiring diagrams and , fuse /relay box locations .
Sounds like your high beam headlights are on a relay that has stuck " ON".

We are planning to call Spartan Monday. Something's weird because they came on when we removed the batteries and both the interior and exterior battery disconnects were on, so I would think there would be no power available anywhere. Thanks for the responses. I'll post when we find our solution.

Two other possibilities that should be mentioned .
Defective daytime running light module ; if the coach was equipped with DRL.
Aftermarket theft alarm , installed by a previous owner ? Some alarm systems see a battery disconnect as an attempt to by pass the alarm and need to be re-set to a normal operating mode.
But if the coach batteries were shut off during the chassis battery removal , where did the lights get power ?
Please post your findings .
