Help! '06 PA Power Steering Belt Broke

We're off the side of the road on a paved shoulder after a belt broke and steering became difficult. Engine's ok (Workhorse W22 8.1L). Got calls in to find maybe a mobile unit that can replace it where we are.

Meanwhile... since I was able to steer it off the road, is it possible to drive this thing safely even though it requires more effort?

Also does this belt control anything else such that I shouldn't even try to drive it?

Short answer is NO.

The water pump runs off the same belt, so you will overheat your engine very quickly.

My W24 8.1 the belt runs the water pump, AC compressor, power steering/brake system pump and alternator. So none of those will be turning without a belt.

If the AC comp. has seized, you can get a Dayco belt pn. 5060955 and bypass it.
