Hello, is anyone able to help identify this connector and reservoir? I noticed the connector loose in the engine area and see it connects to this tank/reservoir. I can put back on but there is nothing to hold it in place.

That's your brake fluid reservoir. That broken piece is the brake warning light sensor - senses pressure difference between the two brake circuits and illuminates the warning light if it's unequal. It's a Ford part... had to get one for our Dutch Star. Around $30. If you need me to do so, I can dig out the part number someplace.

Thank you. I have a Workhorse/Chevy Chassis. Would it still be ford part or is there a Chevy equivalent?
My Freightliner chassis I had on the Dutch Star used the Ford part. Perhaps yours is a Chevrolet part, and perhaps both chassis use the same basic switch designed by a 3rd party (eg. Bendix).
When broken, this will not illuminate the brake warning light on the dash, as it's a normally open switch. If it breaks, chances are it would simply remain open.
Edit:
I just looked up the order I had placed. Indeed I was able to find the original manufacturer's part. It was an Allied-Signal ASL-2232548. I don't know if yours is, but it looks identical from the pics.
Hope this helps!

Thank you for the part number and information, very helpful. It looks like the threaded end is what has broken off and stuck inside.
Yes... That's what happened to ours. I heated the tip of a screwdriver and shoved it in. Let it cool, and unscrewed the broken part. I imagine an easy out would work too.
Same thing happened to mine. Haven't fixed it yet. May try the hot screwdriver trick.
Did you use a small flat bladed screwdriver?
Does brake fluid start coming out when you remove it?

Good question. Judging by the location of the port at the bottom of the reservoir, I think the fluid would leak out. Anyone know for sure?
