I have often complained about the "under the cabinet" electrical outlets in our Bounder. I really hate that wires have to dangle from under the cabinets.

Anyhow, last weekend we were crawling around trying to peer under the FlexSteel sofa to see how it can be removed...and what do you know?!? I spied an actual wall-mounted electrical outlet on the side of the little cabinet next to the sofa.

Of course, you can't actually SEE it unless the sofa is folded down into a bed, but now I know it's there and I can put a lamp on that table.

I also found that the base for our bed has outlets on both sides, so it would be easy to plug up an electric blanket, heat pad, reading light, etc.

We've owned the Bounder for a year and we're still finding surprises.

I do so agree with you on those overhead outlets - particularly the one above the galley. FW should have installed one on the backsplash which is exactly what I've done. The wires are spliced into the GFCI protected feed to the overhead outlet and run in metal conduit to a shallow outlet box riveted to the wall. It's so much more convenient for the kettle and toaster.

Those bedside outlets are too far back for my liking so I added one to the outside face of the right hand cupboard. Not too difficult - just three screws inside and slice the caulk to remove the cupboard.

Have fun swapping out the sofas. DW is not keen on that project as it would reduce the number of seats for visitors. We have a nice padded hassock there to put our feet up on!

Howdy Martin! We could probably trade "war stories" about our Bounders! LOL!! I like your outlet setup there on the backsplash...I'll add that to the Honey-do List.

My hubby has already promised me an outlet on the pantry wall next to the dining booth. I REALLY hate that outlet on the cabinet above the table...ugh.

We also have a leather ottoman in front of the sofa, but I just can't get comfy on that thing.

OK Sara, one of the ONLY complaints from my wife about our rig is the absence of outlets beside the bed. We use our phones at alarm clocks and like to have them plugged in and beside us when we retire to the bedroom for the evening. I ordered some of THESE and planned on wiring them into the headboard and teeing into the 12v overhead lamps.

Well after reading your post it got me to thinking. After work today I stopped by the RV to check. And I'll be damned if we don't each have an outlet on the base of the bed. Totally different make, model, year, etc. We didn't own our MH for a year before we discovered these outlets but had you not posted YOUR discovery we might have. lol Thanx!!!

RV's with laminated sidewalls rarely if ever have wiring in the walls.

I love the fix for the kitchen! I found the ones above the sofa/dinette when I woke up from a nap one day. Going to run outside and look for the ones by the bed!

At least your outlets are at the base of the bed. Ours are at the head, one on each side, under the window, right next to our pillows (photo below - see that small white outlet plate next to the pillow?). Can't tell you how many times I've swiped that plate with my hand when I lay on my side & tuck my arm under that pillow.

I have found several outlets by crawling around on the floor with a flash light looking at cabinet bases. Add me to the list that hates the outlets under the cabinets that result in wires hanging down.

That's true, but there are plenty of cabinet sides where outlets could be placed.

Sarah - I got you bet on that one. 2 years ago we decided to install a new bathroom faucet in our Bounder. After installing same at the sink, I found that the feed pipes coming up from the floor were just a little bit too short. I removed the vanity floor so I could remove the feedline staples for a little slack, and guess what I found - UNDER the floor of the vanity . . .an outlet - wired up and all! Good ol' 5-15R duplex in a steel box, and it was live, to boot! Ain't that hot tamales!!!!!
