Here's the vent in our Bounder's co-pilot area. There's a hose behind that round louvered plate that connects to the dash heat/ac. The plate rotates as well as opens/closes.

Location of my 3 inch vent.....After taking a look at the picture of Sarah's passenger area, my vent is not located on the vertical wall that houses the electrical outlets and the other rectangular vent.
My vent points down towards the floor and is located under the 4 inch dash overhang. It is in line with the left hand corner of the computer shelf as shown. You cannot see it without bending down and looking under the overhang.
Later today I will try and take a picture and post it. I will also see If I can determine where the hose goes.
I do know that it is not connected to any source of heating or cooling as there is no air when either are running with the fan on.

I will report later.

Dave, when you get the chance to have a look again, suggest you run the heater mode lever through all the selections (defrost, max, vent, etc.) to make sure it's not connected. For instance, it's not going to function if the selector is on "defrost".

Here are a couple of Pics.....I have discovered that it is indeed a vent and is connected to the Heater system only....It works only when floor vent or heat to floor is on. One would think that it would have an adjustable vent cover... I will attempt to find and craft a suitable tidy arrangement that can open and close..... Certainly Fleetwood should have Inspections that should have spotted this. Rather tardy on their part.

Ours does have adjustable louvers. Maybe, does your cover have a slide section that'd open/close it? Kinda like the register covers you can buy at HD/Lowe's for your home floor duct openings. Just a thought.

What mine requires is a round 3 inch vent cover with a closing feature. Hopefully I will find something aftermarket or vehicle scrap yard that would adapt and work. Any suggestions from anyone would be welcome....The picture showing the round plastic vent hose at top is what we have...Nothing else.

How about something like this D&W 3840RWH - D&W Register, Round, 4", Dampered, White 3840RWH - RV Plus

I know you said 3" and this says 4" but maybe that's the OD of the cover. I'm not too sure I would not remove that panel in front of the passenger seat and see if that hose is supposed to attach to what looks to me like a vent on the floor or the one in the dash (if that is a dash vent in the pic???).

We have a 2013 Excursion with the loose hose at the drivers side. It is 2" hose laying on the floor.

Thanks Ken,
I will order a Black one to match the rest of the vents. All of the other vents as shown and other ones not shown are all properly connected to their own ducting.
It still amazes me that an organization as big as Fleetwood would not have quality control during and after production.
I also find it disappointing that they do not or will not monitor forums like these where very valuable info can be gathered for an even better product.

I guess as long as the consumer keeps buying, that's all that remains important.

Thanks to all those that offered help and advice.

Their marketing department does monitor forums. I had a meeting with the Vice President of Customer Experience last week and asked him. They don't reply on them, and I completely understand that. There is also a section on the Fleetwood website where you can recommend changes.

I have never noticed the hose on mine, but will be checking next time I go to my storage. Will be following to see what you do.

As far as quality control, they are working to improve it. Apparently dealerships have been complaining and the plant manager is making it a top focus, at least that's what I was told. If you have never been to the factory there is a form that they write down problems as it goes through the various build stages. At the very end of production it goes through a PDI where it is cleaned, systems checked, and given a once over. I know when I took delivery on mine I only found 1 quality control issue. Not trying to sound like a Fleetwood fan boy, just passing along what I was told and observed. There is definitely room for improvement.

Thanks Brian,
Ginny and I love our Bounder and thankfully in 2 years we have had no problems that puts either the dealer or Fleetwood to the test. Hopefully that continues.
I have had to call Fleetwood on operational matters and they were great and sorted me out in no time. That aspect of service is excellent.

The vent matter is strictly a matter that can and should be controlled by Fleetwood and it is encouraging to hear that they view forums and listen behind the scenes. I learned of this item by this post and will now correct it.
Hopefully I will not discover other similar flaws in the build.

Yeah, Fleetwood is far from perfect, just read the thread called questions about my warranty. They have had a nightmare and probably don't think to highly of Fleetwood.

Fleetwood has been outstanding to me so far, even though I filed a NHTSA complaint against them. I am a very satisfied customer.

On a side note, I retired 2 years ago and just got offered a part time job at the dealership I buy my RV's from. Will be working 3 ten hour days Mon-Wed. Will get to see first hand the problems found in different manufacturers products. Will be working in the parts dept, so should give me a pretty good idea of the common problems.

Dave--are you referring to Lori's photo? Our Bounder doesn't have the vent on the vertical wall either. I'll look under that overhang next time I go to the storage facility.

Actually, I was meaning both pictures. I think you will probably find the same vent hose as mine under the overhang.
