hot pantry

our 2008 36D Southwind has a hot pantry. the pantry is right next to our frig. the top part of the pantry gets fairly warm (chocolate chip cookies melt). I'm sure it's because of the frig. anyone with the same problem, figured out how to keep this area at room temp?

I BELIEVE there were some fleetwood models that the top frig vent was not in right spot in relation to frig . THis caused some fires.Probaly a recall .If all checks out a little insulation and or fans to keep area from heat soaking

If the above is not your problem,, Make a sandwich

The "Bottom" slice is the existing pantry wall

The "Filling" is that stuff the Pink Panther pushes... Owens Corning Fiberglass insulation (or a competitor's product) or you can use styrafoam slabs

The inner "Slice of bread" is.. paneling (Make it look nice)

Now, change the door from a solid door to a vented door so room temp air can get in there.

Best I can do

But do read the above reply first and make sure you don't have a serious issue that can be fixed under warranty/recall first.

My guess is that waste heat from the fridge cooling unit is dumping into the space above or to the side of the fridge. This is a problem for the cooling the fridge as well as your chocolate chips. There is supposed to be sealed insulation preventing that. If still in warranty, see a dealer with a good fridge guy. Better yet, find a guy who only does fridges - he is more likely to know about this sort of problem.

it turned out that fleetwood did not insulate the frig compartment, no insulation. the new fleetwood had no problem OK'ing local shop to pull frig and complete the insulating process. it was a fire danger, but new fleetwood did not ah & hum about making the fix. it was apparent that "old" fleetwood dropped the ball during manufacturing, somehow the whole frig insulating process got "missed".

Thanks for the update and hip hip for Fleetwood coming to the repair rescue. That is upstanding of them , as they were only doing first year warr. for the old Co. It's nice to see a Co. have a heart.
