Ii have a 2014 bounder classic. There must not be much insulation between the roof and the ceiling. Be on 30 Amps this summer a lot and there's a lot of heat in the ceiling. Anybody have any ideas.

Park in the shade, or at higher elevations in the summer. RVs are like tin cans, always have been hot in the summer; always will be. I try to prevent heat gain as soon as I park; up go the windshield shades and out go the window awnings. It helps!

Pillows in the ceiling vents stop a lot of heat transfer, as well as insulation of some sort in the shower skylight.
Reflectix or something similar in the windows on the sunny side.
Turn on the AC in the morning before you need it go give it a chance to cool the RV, it has a slightly(!) better chance of being able to keep up, as opposed to trying to cool the RV after it's already gotten too warm.

One thing to consider, I think most RVs now use foam block insulation, rather than pink 'batt' insulation. The pink stuff works by trapping air, and the more its compressed, the less insulation value it has. So, if you were thinking you need to stuff more pink stuff in the ceiling, you might be making matters worse.

Thanks guys. I didn't really know that most RVs have the same issue. I do need to get something in the windows cause I know they make a lot of heat

You need to shade your windows from outside; if you use something on the inside of the glass it won't be as effective as once the heat gets thru the glass, that is what makes the RV hot. I used to think the roll up window awnings on motorhomes were just so much fluff, until I bought one.........!!

+2 on the window awnings recommendation. Kind of pricey, but worth every penny. We had ours done summer before last while at an FMCA Rally in Oregon. The ShadePro guys were circling in their trucks. They measured everything on a Friday afternoon, and installed Saturday afternoon. The fabric matched our main awning perfectly. Aside from our Roadmaster Suspension, it is the best money we have spent to date on our coach.

Well known fact: some RV's are better insulated than others. If you have one of the low insulatiin ones about all you can do is park in the shade, add as much shade producing items as possible, add another air con or move to a cooler area.
