Hot Water in tank but not in coach

Had the 2011 Bounder out for the weekend recently and had no hot water. Cold shower and heated water on stove for dishes...bummer. Dropped coach at dealer on the way home Sunday for what I thought was "warranty repair". I called Fleetwood Customer Care Monday morning to report the problem and state that coach was at dealer. Customer Care Rep asked me if the valves on the outside shower had been left on. I told him "no" because I had never used it. Got to thinking that I had the coach at the dealer awhile back for minor stuff including a "drip" in the utility compartment...did the tech leave the valves open? Sure enough he did and that was the problem. Don't understand the "physics" and the Customer Care Rep couldn't either "just knew that was a possible cause". Complained to my service advisor at the dealer (especially about the cold shower). Apologized and I got a free coach wash out of the deal. Just thought I'd share in case anyone else has encountered this problem.

Heck, if we leave the inside shower turned off at the little shower head lever (but leave the valves at the tub open) it gives us lukewarm water at the kitchen sink.

Go figure.

Check to see if the water heater bypass valve is in the bypass position. Ours was bumped just a little and we had cold showers.

Nope...that was one of the first things I checked (along with circut breakers and fuses). The "no hot water" issue was created by having the outside shower valves open. Like I said originally, I don't unbderstand why that would prevent hot water at the faucets in the coach (and the Fleetwood couldn't either) but, it does. I just thought I would pass it on in case others might experience a similar problem.

Happy you found it. We had that once, too. The reason is that the heigth of the water heater above the input creates enough back pressure so that the cold water has less restriction than the hot water allowing greater flow of the cold water.
