How Do I Gain Access To...

How do I gain access to behind the carpeted vertical panel in front of the passenger seat, under the dash? There is an AC outlet and a DC power port mounted there. The DC power port connector physically broke and the wires to it are fallen down behind. I don't find screws or other to remove the panel.

The trick is finding those screws, trust me they are there, A magnetic stud finder or a Smart Phone with a stud finder app may help (Yes there is such an app) . You will likely want a #2 Square bit in your screwdriver.

The alternate method of finding the screws is brute force, Pry it off and then you can see them, move 'em a bit when you put 'em back so they miss teh holes you stripped out (Fill those with a mix of wood dust and elmers or some other wood fillter.)

wa8yxm is dead on about this. On my 98 Pace Arrow, this is pretty much how I learned about it too. There is also a carpet seam along the left side that you may be able to find and by doing so you may also been able to peel back some of the carpet covering that panel thus being able to see the screws holding this panel. You can also do the right side (near the wall) the same way. I just put adhesive caulking where I pulled the carpet away to attach it back down. I think Fleetwood used a zillion small staples to tack the carpet in place. I think there were only 4 screws holding this panel. Instead of using the screws to put this panel back into place I used 4 magnetic cabinet latches so if I ever have to remove this panel again I just have to pull it away. Go slow and you will get it removed without much of a fuss.

I was told mine was screwed on. I searched and searched and searched. American Coach sent me the assembly diagram with approximate screw locations. I never found them.

Then, when replacing my floor and pulling carpet I could be less ginger. Guess what? No screws. Brad nails was all, ACK!
