How Does My Dinette Convert to a Bed?

Hello Everyone!
I've recently inherited a 2017 Fleetwood Jamboree 31u motorhome.
I've never owned or even really been in a motorhome before, but after a long drive from FL to IL recently (yes had it winterized in FL before the drive back), I am slowly figuring things out.

I am perplexed on how to convert the dinette into a bed. It has a rectangular table on 2 pedestals. It appears the table may lower to rest on the wooden benches, but I cannot figure out how to lower the table legs

Any help greatly appreciated - sure this will be the first of many questions!

Typically the tabletop just lifts off the pedestal(s) and then the pedestal pipe can be lifted out of the socket on the floor. However, there are a dozen or more different dinette shapes and styles and probably that many different ways to lower the top to become a bed. Hopefully another Jamboree or Tioga owner will come along to advice.

Addendum: I checked the 2017 Jamboree owner manual and it has dinette instructions. Basically a locking lever under the table allows it to be rotated downward (see page 107 in the Equipment section. If you don't have the owner manual, download from https://www.fleetwoodrv.com/wp-conte...boree-2017.pdf

It appears the dinette I have in the coach is different than the one in the manual. It looks like I am supposed to do something with the base but when i seem to tighten or loosen the black twist bases, nothing seems to make a difference.

I attached a picture for reference.

I know this sounds simple, but have you tried to lift the table top off the pedestal legs, then see if the legs come out of the floor holders? That's how it worked on my 5r.

Those bases appear the same as what's used in boats. Simply lift the table top off and twist the post to unlock them and remove, set aside, place table top onto bench supports. The posts can not lower down into the floor.

Think about it....... the post are 30" or so tall, where are they going to go, hang down out the bottom of the RV to the ground?? Plus the table is on a slideout.

Sometimes these posts get stuck in place pretty tightly and take some aggressive wiggling to get them loose and out. Especially if something heavy has been set on the table or if they haven't been out in a while.
Yank up on the table top and it should come loose. Repeat as necessary.

That table sure looks like the type I first described in my previous answer. Just lift the top off and twist/wiggle the pedestals to pull up & out. May take some effort if they haven't been removed in a while.

Last spring I bought a fixer-upper travel trailer with the intention my son could use it a couple times during the summer and if I still had it he could take it to Watkins Glen where I have had two reserved sites for years for the NASCAR weekend. The dining table was like the one the OP described. It was stuck and no amount of yanking and pulling was getting it loose. I came up with a good idea. I had my wife hold a 2' 2"x 6" board under the table while I used a 15# post mall to hit the 2X6 with to loosen the top up. I gave the board a pretty healthy shot and my wife let out a blood curdling scream out the likes I haven't heard since I got caught (Oh wait, this is another story for another time). Apparently she wasn't holding the board tightly enough against the bottom of the table like I told her to. Her fingers were numb for a few minutes but she got over it but refused to hold the board again for me.
I gave up and waited for my son who lives next door to get home from work and I had him come over and thought we'd try this again. He grabbed the table and it came off the post like it was never on the post. I guess I never tried pulling the table off after I gave it a healthy swat.
Worked just fine when I sold the trailer in the early fall.

Thanks so much for all the awesome advice!!
It definitely must be stuck so I'll just work on it some more.
I highly doubt its ever been removed since the family member I inherited it from was only 1 person (doubt they needed the xtra bed).

So twist the collars below and just try working it out.
If all else fails Ill give the board and mallet a try like LETMGROW described, but no way my wife would trust my swinging skills to hold the board LOL!
