HR Endeavor Fridge Power

Hello,

Just got a 22 HR Endeavor 38N. First DP here so need to do some quick learning. Coming from a class C so little more complicated.

Q1: There are 2 battery disconnects right at the steps, main & aux. I'm turning them both on and nothing is happening. Tried connecting to shore power and without shore power; doesn't change. Until I start the engine then it seems to come on. Shouldn't have to turn the engine on to get power, correct? If batteries are charged up, the battery disconnect switch should turn on lights.

Q2: When I shut the power off at the main/aux battery disconnect, fridge seems to still run. I'm only parking this at my house temporarily, so I don't need the fridge running. How do I shut it down? I tried unplugging all the plugs and doesn't seem to work. Is it just going over to DC power? If batteries are killed, shouldn't it shut down?

Thanks

Main = chassis batteries and Aux = House batteries. Those switches should remain on except when storing the coach longer term. Yes, with those on you should have 12v power thru-out the coach. Whether on shore power or not.

What does "nothing in happening" mean? No interior lights? Water pump won't turn on? Etc? What were you expecting to have happen?

You say the fridge is on, so I guess something is happening? If it a residential (120v electric only) model or an RV fridge that can run on AC or LP Gas? If a residential fridge it is almost surely powered by an inverter that is direct wired to the house batteries. Use the fridge's own temperature control dial to turn it past its warmest setting to OFF. If it is an RV gas/electric fridge, it should turn off when you switch AUX to Off.

Thanks for the response.

What I mean is those two switches don't even illuminate. There is a small red dot that lights up when you turn them on and they don't come on. So no power is available. The firefly panel doesn't come on so you can't control anything.

For the fridge, it is all electric coach with residential fridge that runs on 120ac from shore power, generator, or inventor. That's what's weird about it, when I shut off the AUX switch, I can still hear it running...makes no sense.

My res fridge is powered thru the inverter, as I’d guess your is too. The disconnect switches don’t effect the inverter, so my fridge will run with the switches OFF. Perfectly normal. Turn invertor off to shut off the fridge. Either by the inverter remote panel or at invertor itself. My RV has a dedicated battery switch for itself right at the inverter. I just turn it off when not using the RV

Yes it does make sense. The inverter is wired direct to the batteries (with a fuse) and so not affected by the Aux Disconnect switch. You can probably turn the inverter off, though, and that will stop it from inverting from battery power. May also stop it from passing shore power, but that depends on the make/model of inverter and I don't know what you have.

When I hit the AUX switch off, it does cut power to everything else that the inverter is supplying, EXCEPT the fridge. That's why I was confused given it receives its power from the inverter when not connected to shore or generator. When I disabled the inverter on the firefly panel, it still was running.

I called REV group and their explanation was if the inverter isn't physically turned off outside by the master switch, it will still trickle power to the fridge. So best way to cut it altogether if you're trying to conserve battery is turn that off. I thought that's what I was doing by turning it off inside at the firefly control center, but I guess not!

Thanks, all! Figured it out and the breaker was my first thought, but it was labeled incorrectly! Appreciate the feedback!
