Humming....

Hi all, on our first trip of the year and I have a humming issue with the water lines on my Excursion 35B... when the water is on (hot or cold) I get an obnoxious humming. Don’t remember it from last year so I am wondering if it could be a pressure issue.

I run an over pressure valve and a filter behind it at the spigot. I also have the unit water filter in the water connection compartment..

Any ideas?

Mark

Sounds like it could be the check valve where the water enters the coach. Could be partially blocked or could be failing.

Sounds like it could be the inlet check valve. Does it hum when using onboard water only? On my 35B, I currently have a humming when using the hot water - pretty much narrowed it down to the mixing valve on the back of the water heater. Hopefully, it won't fail. Only problem is I can't get to the back of the water heater without taking it out. If necessary I may cut a hole in the bed platform for access. Will then have to rig up a way to secure the cutout when finished.

Possible answer for securing cutout: cut as neat rectangle (if possible), overlap edge of cutout with flat picture frame molding (can DIY or have Hobby Lobby or similar make frame, secure with a couple of small screws. Neat looking and removable if necessary.

*sigh*. I hear this complaint all the time. Sad, but correctable for free if you catch it early. Pipes hum because they forget the words. Simply taping a lyric sheet somewhere near your pipes should get them singing again.

No charge. I just like to help.
