Hydraulic tank by engine

Just wondering if anyone knows for a fact whether there is a changable filter for the hydraulic tank on the back of motor bay?
The tank does have a bolted clamp from the top about one and half inchs down that seperates the top from the bottom.
If it does have a changable filter, does anyone know where to purchase a replacement?

You should put what coach you have in your signature.

If you have a hydraulic system (power steering, fan) with a reservoir that chances are there is a filter somewhere. Some manufacturers using in line filter type and other used the filters in the tank.

Look down on the left side/ rear of engine, should be a remote filter that is fatter than the fuel filters, follow a hose to the fan or the pump. Be organized when you change it, they pour oil until you get the new one screwed on. You'll lose about a gallon if you're slow and deliberate.

As becks becks said, what coach do you have, model, year etc.? They are all different.
Someone with a similar coach will have a definite answer.
If you put your coach info in your signature, the info will appear in all your posts.

I have a in line filter in side box on passenger side rear box which houses a water and fuel filter. I know I have to service the spin on filter, but someone told me there was a additional in the reservoir that also needed to be changed? Just trying to clarify what my coach has. I have a 2003 American Dream motorhome with a 370hp ISL Engine

On my 2000 American Eagle there are 2 filters inside the hydraulic tank. If you are on a spartan chassis I suggest you contact them. Spartanrvchassis.com Have your spartan Vin handy.

Last time I changed mine they sold a kit, both filters and a new rubber seal.

Correct! On my 04 tradition it has a gauge on top of it to show you when it needs changed. Yes, be ready with new filter it drains fast.

My 2001 American Eagle on Spartan Chassis with hydraulic side mount radiator has three filters in the oil reserve tank. They are stacked to be able to get them in there.
