Induction Cooktop

Looks great. How many watts does it draw? Can you use it while on the generator?

It's on my list too. But we rarely cook indoors. In fact, we had our Excirsion for a year and I don't remember ever using our indoor burners at all. So it'll be toward the back of the list.

Yours looks really nice!

We have the same one...8 amps. Gen runs everything AC, so yes.

We bought a portable induction cooktop made by Salton at Wal-Mart for under $100 and it plugs into 120v. It's very fast and rated to 1800W but most likely draws about 1500W. We bought this to replace/augment our propane unit when it makes sense to do so. It tucks away nicely when not needed. As a side note, the unit has two setting: Flame, and Thermometer. The flame setting can be used for a quick sear or boiling water, both of which happen quickly. Use the thermometer setting for other cooking as the unit will self regulate the temperature while the other setting keeps pumping out the power and will eventually overheat and shut itself off.
