inverter control panel

a little help please. 1992 american eagle, above my dinette i have a inverter control panel by dimensions. there's a switch, instant on (brings the inverter up on coach batteries) off and sleep on. what is the sleep on mode ????

Dunno for sure, but bet it's timed to go off after some period of time - like two hours. Like the sleep mode on some TV sets.

What brand and model is the inverter? Maybe someone has a manual for it.

Guessing here but usually means that the unit will automatically use less power (from the batteries) and go into an idle mode when no load is present/needed to better conserve batteries. A small load like the timer on a vcr or microwave clock would of course automatically take the inverter out of that conservative mode.

"Sleep" is often a synomym of "Standby" which is a term that applies only to in-line inverters..

I would Google the panel, Get it's make and model number and type

Make #### Manual

In the search box on Google Replace Make with the actual make and #### with the model number.

Do the same for the actual inverter.

Agree with Qwert66. Sleep mode refers to a stand-by mode that will ignore very small electrical loads, typically anything under about 0.4 amps. That means a clock or a small night light wouldn't cause the inverter to come on and supply power, whereas in the "Instant On" mode they would. Sleep mode conserves battery power by eliminating inverter overhead as well as the power needed for the tiny loads.
