Agree with Qwert66. Sleep mode refers to a stand-by mode that will ignore very small electrical loads, typically anything under about 0.4 amps. That means a clock or a small night light wouldn't cause the inverter to come on and supply power, whereas in the "Instant On" mode they would. Sleep mode conserves battery power by eliminating inverter overhead as well as the power needed for the tiny loads.
