Inverter / solar panel

I hv a 2019 35k with a 100watt factory installed solar panel. I have no idea how it works when I store the coach for an extended period of time, I can’t have it plugged in where I keep it stored stored. Will the solar panel trickle charge the house battery?
If so, do I need to keep the inverter on?
Will it also charge the coach battery?

Thanks. I tried searching everywhere and keep coming up short.

I dont know on your unit and it really depends on how the solar charge controller is wired. That said, most of the time the charge controller is wired to the battery bank so it will charge even if the inverter is off. Mine did. Of course the solar panel needs to be in direct sun as much as possible, with minimal shade in the middle of the day. 100w will definitely keep your batteries charged if the rig electrical is shut down.

Since you did not list the name of your inverter/charger or how it is wired, I can't answer your question. I will tell you I never turn my inverter on unless I'm going to use it. Even though it is on standby, it is using electricity and is subjected to wear and tear.

Like others posted, it depends on how it was wired.

The controller should be wired directly to the battery bank (s). Depending on what kind of controller you have, it could be wired to both house and chassis or just the chassis.

Typically, a single bank controller will only be wired to the chassis battery bank. If you have a dual battery bank controller, it will do both.

If you disconnect both banks of batteries from your coach during storage, the solar controller should still function and if you have a display, it should tell you the state of your battery bank(s) to ease your mind.
