Is removal of shelf doable? 2015 Bounder

Considering removing the upper portion of the shelf in the cupboard over the bed in a 2015 Bounder so that we have one level shelf instead of two small shelves. Does anyone know if this will work or is their mechanics or wiring in the upper area?

I really can't picture what you're asking. If you want to take a shelf out of the cabinet, go for it. If you're talking about taking the top out of the cabinet, you might be staring at the inside of the fiberglass end cap. Perhaps a photo would make it more clear.

Is this shelf removable?

Thanks for looking. Here is a pic. It is the upper shelf that runs the length of this cupboard above the bed in the slide out.

Here's a link to how to post photos.

I used to use PhotoBucket until they changed their rules and wanted a bunch of money to be able to link photos to a forum. Now I use the forum's Attachments to post them.

If you're talking about the intermediate shelf in back of the plastic bins, I don't see why they can't be removed. Just be sure they aren't serving as a stiffener for the cabinet back.

I agree w/Bob. FWIW, we don't have a shelf in our over bed cabinets.

Looks like you have puck lights mounted on the underside of that cabinet. I think that small secondary shelf is covering the back of the lights and the wiring to them. You just might expose the back of the lights and switches without that shelf.

The bottom of the cabinet should be covering the puck light wiring, not the shelf that is 6-8" above the cabinet bottom.

I have a '16 and think it is the same. Correct, the wiring is under the shelf. The part the OP is talking about is a cutaway for the day/night shades so I would not recommend trying to take it out unless you want the roller shade surround to be visible inside the cabinet.

Thanks

Thanks for all your reply’s. I haven’t had a chance to get in there & check it further but I have a feeling it will be left in. Just need to find baskets or something to help keep it neat & tidy.
Thank you
