King Mattress thru 30" door?
I am thinking of purchasing a Fleetwood Bounder with a king-size mattress and I am wondering whether I will be able to get a replacement king mattress through the 30" doorway?

Welcome to IRV2. I don't know which model Bounder you are referring to, but my Bounder has a 25" opening. I would say that it's the width of the bed that needs to be measured. The mattress thickness will not be a problem.
You can call Fleetwood cust. service @ 800-322-8216 and tell them the year, make and model you're looking at .
I wouldn't think you'll have a problem, however I usually get in trouble when I think. Good luck and please let us know how you make out.
PS
The Bounder is a great MH.

You should not have any issues. As Clifftail said thickness is what matters. If your old one comes out the new one should go in. I replaced mine when I bought it but it was a queen.

Latex or foam are good options.

You would move a mattress in an RV the same way you do at home, tip it on its side and move it. The thickness of the mattress is not the issue.
The biggest problem will be the height of the door since a US King sized bed is 76 x 80 inches. So the door height needs to be at least 76 inches and the bed needs to bend around any obstacles. Make sure to extend any slides to provide as much room as possible going around corners.

The beautiful thing about the memory foam/latex options (besides the anti-bug thing being on the road) is that they come in a box that is quite small. Open that thing up on the coach and it expands in place rather than the hassle of bringing it on board.

I had some made at a mattress place in New Jersey. When they came they were rolled up and the air had been sucked out of the plastic they were in. The roll wasn't all that big, I cut the plastic off and let it unroll inside and in a day or so it had all smoothed out. They were great mattresses but we sold the rig and they had been custom sized for it. I'm thinking of getting one made for this motorhome. The one that was in here was one very very heavy sucker.

Alvinc was really close...
I say this based on experience.
You can "massage" a king mattress through nearly any (reasonably close to dimension) opening. Mattresses are not entirely rigid. Realistically, the only issues are determination and time.
We pushed a king mattress through a standard Fleetwood door. It took a half hour. Maybe a bit more. Won't say it was pretty, but we got 'er done.

We have a 06 Winnebago Tour with a sleep number bed. The sleep number was not comfortable so we replaced it last week with a king size memory foam mattress from Costco. It comes in a box and expands after opening. We are very pleased with the comfort of the new mattress.

Most standard mattress sold in stores now are made to fold slightly in the middle to allow getting around tight corners (IE: up the stairways/etc). Most mattress found in RV's now days are standard size
