Thumbs down Kitchen tile backsplash separating from wall - 2015 Discovery

So today I noticed the kitchen tile backspace has separated from the wall in our 2015 Discovery. This is the same slide that has the water leak when it rains.

Has anyone else seen this kind of separation? Is it due to body flex when driving or could it be somehow water related? The coach is going in for repairs in 3 weeks for the water leak, and it looks like I'll be adding this to the repair list. I just hope its not a sign of major water damage because they indicated that fully rebuilding the slide out could take 3+ weeks.

Ten days after the purchase of our new 2015 Excursion last year we took a really awful road through Dallas. We heard loud noises, binging and banging, sounded like the MH was coming apart. DH does not like to walk about in the coach while underway so we just ignored the cacophony. When we finally stopped all of the backsplash was separated from the wall. One more pot hole and it all would have been on the floor.

yikes! That sound like what happened to me!

Was it an easy fix? And did the fix last?

Easy fix. Loctite PL series 3X. DH removed 2x2 " of wallpaper behind tiles where he applied adhesive in multiple locations. Has not budged in 8 months. Went to Decatur last November for warranty work and had them check tiles in bathroom . They were also loose.

I also noticed the kitchen wall tile separating in my 2015 Discovery. No water leakage ever detected, so I suspect your problem is not water related, but just poor adhesive selection during manufacturing, like many of us are realizing.
Warranty is scheduled to cover this item next time in the shop.

Same here

2015 Discovery 40E. Mines pulled slightly away from wall too. Too small area to worry about. Service at dealership tried to fix. I think wall behind is not perfectly flat.

It appears that this is a continuing issue with the Fleetwood Discovery. We had the same issue with our 2012 36J after the warranty had expired.

http://www.irv2.com/forums/f107/kitc...ll-213939.html

When reading the link, don't give up hope. At the end, after writing to Fleetwood, the CEO had a rep call me and offer to reimburse us for the repairs. When putting the cabinetry in place, they had missed screwing the retaining bolts/screws into the ribs behind the wall.

Total time for the repair was 1 day to bolt the cabinets back to the wall and glue the "tile" in place, and 1 day for it to completely dry before we could head home.

I'd recommend contacting your dealer, and seeing if Fleetwood will reimburse them directly for the repairs if not under warranty. Sorry to hear that this issue continues.

Good luck - hope this helps!
