I have a 2006 Discovery 39S. Lately, after a rain, I have noticed a dampness, sometimes visible water, just inside the cabin door. Sometimes, a small puddle of water is on the first interior step. The carpet under the front passenger seat and closest to the curb wall is also damp.

I believe the culprit is the small window by the door. I can see water trails on the inside wall from the bottom of the window to the passenger side console. Looking from the outside, how is rain water supposed to drain from this window?

Has anyone had leaks from this window before?

Window leaks aren't unusual in RVs - the body shifts and twists as you drive and when leveling at the campsite, so the seal around the windows frame gets broken. It's not terribly difficult to pull the window frame out of the sidewall and re-install with new sealer (usually butyl tape) and then re-caulk the exterior. There are several excellent videos on YouTube showing the procedure.

Rainwater that runs down the glass falls into the bottom trough (channel) and out thru "weepholes" there. Those are rarely a problem and mostly just result in a wet bottom track. Wet walls means water is getting behind the window frame and into the walls.

Is window sealed on top of frame against MH on the outside?
