Leveling jacks

Hello to you all!
We are new to the site and had a question about the leveling jacks in a 1998 Fleetwood discovery 36' RV.

Does anyone know if when you press the left and right buttons should both the front and back on the left and front and back on the right go down at the same time when you press either button?

Currently when the left button is pressed only the left back goes down and when the right button is pressed only the right back goes down.

Just wanting to see if this is correct operation.

Thank you,
Levi & Sara

Do you have any indication of the brand of leveling jacks that are on your coach ?
Company name on the control panel ?

HWH and Power Gear are common on older coaches.

What do you have to do to get the front jacks down ?
Or are they not operating at all .

Welcome to vintage Fleetwood Discovery ownership. I have a 2000 Discovery with what I believe is a similar Power Gear leveling system. The rear jacks are the only ones with left/right adjustment capabilities. Once you're level, you can make small left/right tweaks using the rear jacks.

Keep in mind that adjusting side to side with the rear jacks puts a slight twist on the frame, so this should only be done for minor corrections. I try to rely on leveling blocks or wood as much as possible to get side-to-side level before using the jacks.

This is a great site for RV info. I'm also a member of a Discovery Owners only website dedicated to the Fleetwood Discovery. Lots of great info there to, especially if you are new to your Discovery.

What you describe is the proper operation and is how my 2019 works.

First push the front button to lift the front on both jacks, 2 -3 inches, then

Right side button extends right rear jack.
Left side button extends left side jack.

There's one hydraulic line that splits and goes to the two front jacks, so after you have all the jacks down, pressing the right or left buttons to level side to side with the rear jacks just transfers fluid from one front jack to the other front jack, there's no twisting of the frame by the jacks.
