Leveling system issues

I have a 2014 American Coach Tradition and my hydraulic leveling system is making a loud groan when activated
Also does it for a brief time when we disengage the brake and shift to drive
Assume because it is making sure levelers are up
Also how do I release the air from system to allow Coach to settle for long stays
I recall it does this prior to engaging levelers but concerned about using them until problem corrected
Have been using air leveling for time being

Are you sure the hyd oil reservoir is full to the mark? Sometimes when hyd oil gets low in a system it allows air into the system, which can make quite an assortment of noises.

Leveling system

I did check that and added fluid but I think I filled it while jacks were down
When I retracted I had excess fluid on the floor
Have been afraid to use so have been using the air leveling since our stops have been short ones
However I need to get working properly
Engaged the system yesterday and it works but the noise is difficult to deal with
Did not do the whole time just part
Will run a couple of more times and hope your suggestion of air is correct and bleeds now that I know it should be full
The motor was very warm to touch, not sure if normal

If you filled the hydraulic tank with the jacks down, unless you have partially emptied the tank, it has way too much fluid in it.

As for the air, when you select to level hydraulically, the first thing the system does is dump the air, then puts the jacks down.

leveling system

When the jacks go down, the first thing that should happen is the air dumps.
If that does not happen get on Lippert's web site, they bought Power Gear.
They can send you the procedure to re-calibrate the system.

As far as the noise goes, i hope it is just air.
