LP remote fill

Question on the remote fill line for the LP tank. I went to fill the LP for the first time and when they turned on the supply I had hole in my fill line going to the tank. There must be a one way valve on that line because I still have LP in my tank. I was wondering how I could fix that hose? Is there a lot of pressure on that line when they fill. I was thinking if it wasn't just to patch with some hose tape or something.

That's a high pressure hose that you can't patch with tape. Replacing it is the only safe repair. If it has a hole in it, it might be sign that other parts of the hose are also weak or damaged.

There is a one way valve on the tank. Hose can be replaced with Gas in the tank and is the ONLY way to fix the Problem,

From Yahoo Answers:

Quote:
The pressure in a propane tank varies with the temperature of the liquid in it. Volume is not a factor. At -44°F the pressure is 0 psi. As the temperature increases from there, so does the pressure. at 0°F you have about 28 psi, at 32°F about 60 psi. At 72°F about 130 psi and at 100°F close to 200 psi.

These numbers will vary a bit globally as propane has different butane content and other things that can raise or lower the pressure depending on where it is produced. But these numbers are pretty close for most of North America...

Which also explains why butane and to a lesser extent propane quit flowing at low temperatures.
