I went out to look at my dash, and it appears to be on hinges, too, but something seems to be catching when I lift it up a couple inches. I'm going to have to figure out what that is before I lift too hard on it, and it's too cold out there still...

Anyone else notice that when lifting it up, and already know what it is?

My '97 Bounder has a strap, with a snap on the end, that hangs down and snaps to the steering column on the right side. I've never snapped it back since I originally unsnapped it. That might be your situation.

Thanks! I didn't notice one, but was not looking for one, either. I'll have to check for that next time I'm in it.
