Macerating problem

I have an American Tradition 2013 as if it matters. I installed a Sani-con 500 turbo macerater that worked perfectly for 2 years. Lately it started to make a grinding noise. Then it blew a fuse. Replaced the fuse and it starts up for 30 sec then slows down to a halt the starts up again slow and blows another fuse. I'm thinking it's shot. Not sure I want to buy another $400 pump. I see on Amazon there are allot of maceraters a hell allot cheeper. Any you would recomend?

You need to take it off and see if its clogged with something it can't pass.

Anything thicker then toilet tissue will not easly pass thru it. Long hair can wrap up behind the blade.

I have the Turbo 500 but had the other cheaper FloJet ones in the past. They clog up too.

So, I tried to take it apart and the prop half came off easy, but, the motor half didn't seem to want to separate. I stoped because I thought I might brake it. Doesn't seem to be any hair at the base of the shaft.

I solved my macerator problem by removing it and leaving it in my storage building.

I've been using a macerator pump in my motorhomes since 2007. The only issue I've had is with hair (long) getting wrapped around the motor shaft not long after I installed the first one. One thing I have learned is to install the screen type hair traps in the shower and bathroom sinks. That prevents hair from making it into the gray tank and then the pump. I do replace the impeller and seals after about 3 years of use.
