Exclamation Macerator toilet not emptying?

Just an FYI thread in case anybody runs across this issue.

2013 Providence 42: Customer complaint that the Dometic 8600 macerator toilet isn't emptying the bowl.

I tested the toilet and the macerator pump was working, just swirling water and waste around but not emptying. Pulled the toilet, checked from end to end, nothing blocking inside the toilet.. was hoping to find condoms or white rats! :-) I then tried pouring a cup of water down the waste tube and it didn't go down.. uh oh.

Digging a bit further I removed the pedestal, insulating foam and I find that Fleetwood, during manufacturing, uses a 1 1/4" flexible waste line to connect the toilet to the black tank, directly below. The line was over 18" too long and instead of cutting the tube to the proper length the installer simply "shoved" the tube down thus causing it to fold over on itself creating a huge kink, as seen in the pictures.

Unfortunately, all the AC wiring runs right underneath this portion of the floor and I'm unable to "cut" a larger access hole to reach the hose clamp from this toilet line to the black tank. So I have two choices.. disassemble the Water Bay on the left or the Inverter/Power bay on the right to gain access to replace this hose. Either way, not a fun process. How did this EVER pass PDI? Grrrrr

Can't fully see the kink but any chance you can pull on the hose and insert a dowell to straighten out the kink? Then cut off the excess from the top.

I had considered doing that then driving a 10" long piece of thinwall PVC of similar diameter to prevent it from kinking again. I'll update the thread once I get back to it tomorrow morning.

Wow, thanks for that info. We don't have the Dometic macerator, but do have a SeaLand with the pump. I wonder if they used that same flexible waste line in 2012 models?

Sorry... I forgot to update this last month. According to Fleetwood drawings I had 2 choices to access this at the black tank...
(1) Pull the Water Bay
(2) Pull the Inverter Bay

Neither choice is particularly pleasing....

Since it is literally a straight shot down (with no bends) from the toilet to the black tank, I opted to sleeve the hose internally and externally with PVC and clamp it together - 21" of extra hose cut off at top. All is well... customer happy, working great. :-)
