I am sure you will get many different replies but I will be first and say I love my sleep number.

Do you have a budget? Sleep number is about $2600
Basic coil mattress is about $250
3 inch memory foam topper for $200 will make even the cheap mattress feel great.

We love our Sleep Number mattress (RV king size, with separate left/right adjustment). We now have zero back/joint issues from sleeping. We have tried many other mattresses over the years in our S&B homes...our current Sleep Number mattress is by far the best we've ever had.
We initially tried a foam topper on the OEM mattress (as pasdad1 mentions), and while it made the OEM mattress better, it was not nearly as comfortable as the Sleep Number mattress.
For us the cost was worth it...we spend 1/3 of our lives sleeping.

Mattress
We purchased a Zinus memory foam on sale on Amazon plus a green tea topper also on sale. We have a Queen short. Was less than $150 total a few years ago and more comfortable than our $2000 house mattress !

I ran into this many times as a service manager. Most rv mattress’s are hard. Most of my customers were happy with my advice to go with a good quality memory foam topper.
That is what I have done in my last three motorhomes and we have both been pleased with the results.

I would go Sleep Number or if you want something less costly try out a good quality memory foam mattress and stay away from camping world. Most mattress dealers offer RV kings, queens and doubles.

Make sure of the length of your existing mattress. Some RV queen mattresses are shorter than the standard 80 inch length and come in at about 75 inches. Found out that Costco sells a 75 inch queen RV mattress.
