Mirrors

Has anyone painted the mirrors on bouncers?

The bases on our 2016 35k are peeling. I called rec. Was told to bad out of warranty. We were at a camp ground at ma dill afb and we saw a lot of Fleetwood with black mirrors. You could tell they were painted,no one was home could not talk to them. Anybody do this?
Thanks gordon.

They are aluminum so definitely could be painted with the right prep. Are yours chrome? Mine are black from the factory.
I had a set of chrome stick on mirror covers painted black for my old super duty. I went to a body shop and asked them to shoot them the next time they did black. Think I paid 20 bucks.

mirrors

Yes the mirrors are chrome. My DW said I must have been drunk when I posted. It was Mac Dill AFB where we were. Mirrors started peeling after a year and a half. We are going to paint them black. I have never seen black from the factory. Thanks for the response.

2016 Bounder. (Not bouncer, though it feels like one on the highways).

My neighbor had the bases/arms of his mirrors powder coated black and left the mirror cowl chrome as they were in good shape. Looks very good.

The mirrors on my Discovery are already black....I saw a motorhome for sale a few months ago and the mirrors were painted white like the rest of the coach......I must say they looked pretty good! Im considering painting my mirrors white for a while to match the white on my coach.....Dare to be different!!

Same problem on my '16 Bounder. The "base" which is chrome plated aluminum is an upgrade on the Bounder (at least for my year 2016). Upgrade that is junk after 12 months.
Also considering the powder coating.

Ljwt330, Wondering if they can powder coat it on or does it have to be removed? IMO looks like a real pain to remove that.
