Mirrors / Is there a fix for main mirror vibrating

The mirror on the driver's side of the coach has two mirrors in it.

One is the convex mirror at the bottom.

The second mirror is the flat mirror that can be moved with the controls on the inside of the coach.

This mirror vibrates as we travel down the road.

I have tried putting foam around the edge to dampen the vibrations but this does not help much.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem (the passenger side mirror does not do this)

How do you remove the mirror from the mirror housing?

Glenn

When my mirror vibrates it is usually caused by a wheel out of balance. The lower mirror won't vibrate but the upper one does. I assume it is because of the mounting that lets it be moved where as the lower one is more stable.

good luck

This is more like a problem with the mounting of the mirror in the housing.

Left mirror vibrates right mirror does not.

Mine only vibrates over 65. I believe it's more a function of the wind then vibration. Haven't figured out a way to resolve it. Well, honestly, it bothers be so I keep it under 65. 60 really seems to be a sweet spot for me.

Glen, are those Velvac mirrors? If so perhaps a call to Velvac is in order. I have also DL'ed pdf's that explain in detail adjustments.
My drivers side mirror was attached with galvinized screws! No thrubolts like it shoud be.
What really burns me is that the mirror was NEVER weather proofed. Water gets in behind the mirror and those $^^$% screws start to rust! The rust travels across to the chrome and it starts to deteriorate working its way up thru the mounting holes past the plastic caps and out around the base!

I just dont understand why SS screws where not used other than cost.

I have a 2007 Expedition with similar issue . I contacted Velvac and got a download of how to adjust metal "fingers" in mirror assembly to dampen vibration. Hope this helps

Mirror adjustment! Who would have thought, I just went and checked my drivers side glass and it is hanging out in the wind. I will be doing that adjustment first thing when I hit the shop today.

Mine vibrated due to the arm-to-body attachment with lag bolts (as mentioned above). Replaced the lags with thru-bolts/fender washers/elastic stop nuts. It's nearly vibration free.
