Moen faucet screen

Ok here we are in spring startup. I ran the water through the system- all that pink foam into the tank. Even the washing machine is good.
Some trouble with the Sealand toilet. I put pink in the bowl over winter, it evaporated and left scale. So I had to scrub that rotating ball till it's gone and rub Vaseline on it. It still has seepage but will keep applying more in days to come. Now the bathroom sink fixture (Moen) is dripping or actually running a pretty good stream making the pump run. I replaced the kitchen Moen cartridge last summer for a drip so.... Mr Plumber decides to replace the cartridge. Which one's dripping hot or cold? Go to big box home decor/hardware and get a free cartridge because Moen has a lifetime warranty. I know my skills so ask for two replacements. I replace both and turn on the taps - no flow! WTH?
Last resort unscrew the screen under the faucet and voila - flow!
The lesson here - there is no substitute for experience. Get some today!

We had plenty of water pressure throughout the MH except for the kitchen faucet (Moen). When I put it on spray..lot's of pressure...back to normal very little pressure. Took the head off and sure enough the screen was 80% plugged.

Re Toilet: Your toilet owner's manual came with a seal cleaning tool.. USE IT.

Re: Faucet: If the "Head" on the faucet is the kind that pulls out so it doubles as faucet and sprayer (Common in RV's. my Knock off of a Delta is that way) then the "Screen" in the base of the want where the hose connects is also a vacuum breaker/check valve.

So.. Either clean or replace.

Thanks all. Just a few more items to add to the pre-winterize or de-winterize checklist. Add wash in soap and water the water filter canister before adding a new charcoal filter.

If you don't have the tool, use an ice cream stick. With the valve open run it around under the seal and gently work in between the ball and the seal. Of course with a gloved hand. Also, if the seal does not hold water in the bowl I have been successful cleaning the seal by running the toilet cleaning brush through the seal while rotating it several time.

Hey Chuck thanks! I did look for the seal cleaning tool but no sign of it in the binder.
I will try the ice cream stick if the level doesn't hold. Not sure what Ill do next year. Dont want to leave it dry but that pink is messy.

Ramlinboy,
Never had a problem with it drying out, but then I don't leave much in the toilet. Once I finish pumping the pink stuff I open the flush valve and let what's there drain into the tank. There is just a thin film of pink stuff after that. While I don't have to winterize my Dolphin because we're in Southern CA, I do have to do my Avion 5er that is in Northern AZ near the Grand Canyon at 6,100 ft.

There is no reason to leave anti freeze in your toilet. After pumping antifreeze through the supply line turn off the water and flush the toilet. You can wipe it clean at that point.Petroleum products are not to be used to lube.
