Hi Folks,

I have a 2000 Bounder 34T and would like to mount two lengths of 4" PVC Schedule 40 plastic pipe on the roof for convenient storage of lengths of electrical conduit that I use in my travels. I have been thinking of a couple of pieces of Unistrut running the short way on the roof and then use Unistrut pipe clamps to hold the tubes the long way on the roof, but I am of course concerned about puncturing the otherwise non-leaking roof when attaching the Unistrut channel. I therefore appeal to the wise oracles of the RV world for suggestions.

Any reason not to mount them under the chassis on the frame? Thinking along the chassis rails at the back along side the gas tank

I guess it depends on if getting up on the roof is better/worse for you than getting under the rear...

Thank you, Mack! That's actually a very good idea that hadn't occurred to me (Whap forehead here). Before the Bounder, we used a Coleman Pop-up and I had tubes on the roof of that li'l pup of a camper, so access was always easy. I'll ponderize the under-chassis mounting over the next few hundred miles and see what I can work up next time I'm close to the shop.

What lengths are you looking to store? My 2016 34T has several spots that go the width. Could secure conduit with a small bungee to keep from rolling around. Or mount on the top of the rear pass through.

Also had a thought to mount a holder under the bottom of the bins. Drill through the bottom of the bin and mount your tube holder. Maybe angle them a little so they would come out without running into the wheels.

I installed a 5 inch PVC fence post sleeve under my MH to carry a collapsible ladder. I first held it in place with HD wire ties and then added light cable & clamps for security. Home Depot sells the sleeve & caps. The sleeves are long enough to do side to side if that is sufficient for your conduit.
Lots of folks use them for stinky slinky but the folding ladders also fit.

All these under chassis ideas are great. All it takes is one $5000 roof replacement to convince you that there is never a good reason for another roof penetration.

Hi Folks,

Thank you to all of the appreciated and useful suggestions! After ponderizing the several possibilities I realized that the three bins under the driver-side slideout are actually one long bin with merely three separate doors (and, yes, I've known that for a long time). By moving other stuff to other places including a nearby dumpster, I am now able to slide the lengths of conduit into the storage bin and pile cra... er... excellent camping supplies in there as well.

Problem solved!
