It's Curtains!

So, I've had broken curtain clips on the front curtains for a long time and finally found the sow-in replacement clips. I didn't have much fun pulling out the old thread and sowing. But I'm glad they're fixed now!

Thank you, computerguy! Yes, there is already a completed modifications thread, prominently listed at the top of this Forum. Please post modifications you've done there. It's so much easier, & a benefit for members who are researching, to find these things if they are in one place.

Yes, there is a lengthy one, a good one. I just needed to start a fresh thread for those of us who are interested in seeing my projects in progress, too. Not just complete.

Thanks for posting.

AC Replacment

I started my ac replacement project earlier, uh, yesterday.

Going well so far. I'm by myself, so going slow but steady.

Bought incompatible ceiling assemblies, but I'm glad I took mchero's advice to check compatibility. I called Airxcel before I had them load the units. And sure enough, the ceiling assemblies, specifically the control board wasn't compatible with a zoned thermostat or system. I had mentioned ZONED all through the sales, estimation, and technical support question process with the vendor. But it slipped their mind I suppose.
Anyway, the guy at Airxcel said no, the Coleman 8330A733 63130 Ducted Ceiling Assembly Cool Only w/o Thermostat wouldn't work with my thermostats or zones. And if the control boards were functional just to use the existing one.
So I went back in and got the 2 ceiling assemblies refunded. $200 plus tax I saved. Or a 45 minute trip to return them.

Hey CaptainVideo,

We have pretty much the same coach. Ours is the Black Onyx color with the maple interior.

I'll look forward to following your project thread!

Take care,

Dave

Thanks so much. It's here for all.

I've seen your coach project page and it blows my MIND! I so want to replace the front tv. At least you got a factory installed Sony it seems. Mine is a crappy Panasonic with subpar inputs and crappy performance. :/

I'm not good at carpentry, so I doubt I could do this one myself.

I've got some other big and small projects I've documented but haven't posted about. Hopefuly I'll get the time. Thanks for stopping by!

Mr. Dave helped me with the confidence to replace my surge tank.
Freightliner had observed a hairline crack a year or two ago. It finally sprang a leak recently.
I went to Freightliner, and at first they sold me the wrong plastic tank.
It wouldn't align with the mounting bracket.
I went back and got the correct one, in metal. Almost left without a tank pressure cap. I asked the salesman, wasn't that just a temporary one. He blushed, and grabbed me one and threw it in for free for all the hassle.

Had to reverse the mounting bracket, and re-locate water separator indicator which was mounted on it, though.
Pretty easy job. Saved about $500 in labor so they said.

Tank: VML-T3945, $194.44
Sensor Probe: KYS 5022 02200 05, $17.34
3/8" x 1" stainless bolts, washers, and nuts
Hose clamps (Don't seem to have taken pics before putting new clamps on)

Awesome capt video. Seems like I have some of the similar issues.on my rev as well. I had both my a.c. units replaced the microwave and the inverter. I also had my levelers go out on me it was a igniton on wire that went to it that was causing the leveler unit not to come on. The controller for it is under the 3rd compartment on the passengers side I believe.

I have a few curtain clips I need to redo in mine as well.

Oh and installing a flat screen tv is easier than you think. The hardest part is removing the old tv. I put a flat screen in mine I mounted it on the outside of the screen bezel. I had removed the bezel around the tv and put two boards on the sides and mounted a board to that and mounted the tv mount to the board. I can give you some pics down the road if you want. I used a vizio 32 inch smart tv for the front and a 24 inch vizio in the bedroom did the same kind of thing.

Sorry i was a bit long winded there.

Not long at all. Even if it was, I wouldn't mind!

I dread a leveler issue. I need to have the hydraulic reservoir checked. Good to know about the ignition wire in case of troubleshooting.

On the curtain clips, I'm going to have to go back and use a different stronger thread. They're hard to sew in place. I'd suggest taking the whole curtain down and using a sowing machine and a nylon type thread similar to what they used originally.

Curious if you have these oddities on your coach also?
Headlights impossible to aim?
Any issues with the backup camera?
