new carpet

I have a 2011 American Heritage and I am thinking about replacing the carpet. As the cabinets are set on the carpet, it looks like it may be involved. I'm sure they will cut the old carpet out.
Has anyone done this or have any advice?

This is why it is so expensive to have installers do this job. In my HR all the cabinets are set on clay tile. As for the carpet I took out all furniture, driving seats and bottom dash pieces. The sidewalls were even put on top of the carpet.

You will have to spend some time with a razor knife and a dremel tool. Just dig out carefully underneath the cabinets as far as you can. Are you replacing with carpet?

carpet

yes , i'm replacing the carpet. It's only 3 years old but it's just not very good carpet. I'm going back in with some high dollar carpet.

Setting cabinets on tile in a sticks and bricks house is common, but not so for carpet. Nevertheless, cutting out the carpet is not a big deal. The largest time consumer is the removal and re installation of seats and othe items. If you can do this and clear the way for the carpet installer likely will save much of labor cost.

I'm starting this same project on Friday. Removal of furnishings is the first step. You also have to investigate how the carpet fits around the slides. On mine, the main floor carpet goes slightly under the lip of the slide but I think I can get at it. On others, the only choice may be to cut along the front edge of the slide and tack it down there. Mine also has a flap on the front edge of the slide that needs to be bound once the piece is cut to fit. I've got a carpet shop lined up to do that.
