Have a 2003 Fleetwood Fiesta and was wondering what batteries are used to start the Onan 4000 Gen. Coach or Engine. The Gen is showing a 32 fault code.
They said to check the battery cables.

Code 32 has two possible meanings.

One is low oil, so check that first as it's a simple check. Also, it's a good idea to use a little heavier oil, say a 20-50, as it can happen that lighter oils may not depress the oil pressure sensor.

Second is battery not enough voltage to run starter for over 2 seconds. By default the house batteries start the generator, so make sure they are charged, and check all connections.

When the engine is running the alternator provides voltage to charge the house batteries, so there should then be ample voltage to start the generator.

So,
1 - Check the oil.
2 - Check all battery connections, especially grounds.
3 - Check the cable connections at the generator
4 - Check the house batteries are fully charged.

If you still get an error 32, start the engine, and try to start the generator. If still error 32, there is bad cable to the generator, or an error in the control board.

Disconnect the battery cable from the generator, and jump a known good battery directly to the generator. If it starts, wiring issue on the rig. If still error 32, bad board on the generator.
