I am retiring in a few weeks, my wife will not be far behind. We are looking to buy our first Rv and hit the road. We are comfortable spending in the neighborhood of 70-90k. Looks like that could buy a large spectrum of units. We are looking to get the best band for our bucks of course. With that being said, our question is what is a better quality unit and what should I be looking for(defects). I am a retired trucker so I am leaning towards diesel pushers.
Does anyone know anything about American Tradition rvs?
Many thanks in advance
I have a 99 American Tradition 40 ft TVS , 50k milage , they average between $59K and $79k now , and are on a Spartan Chassis with 295 x 22.5 Toyo tores , 8.3 ISB cummins 330 hp plus programmer , can tow 10000 lbs , washer/dryer , twin couches , queen bed , double door fridge , independent front suspension , air bag all 4 corners , we searched for 2 years and finally picked this quality unit , even get decent milage , trip this month , 2500 miles , avg 10.4 mpg , @ 60 mph , and no my calculator is not broken , we found newer , cheaper models but this one fit us

Welcome

I am also a retired driver.

Your price range will get you a fine coach.

Look for a diesel pusher, side radiator (much easier to work on, side radiator coaches tend to be on the higher end).

If it is just the two of you you might want to consider no slides as there are constant problems with them (getting jammed, water leaks, air intrusion)

My wife and I have no slides in a 39 foot RV and there is plenty of room.

Also consider only one bathroom (with just two people how often will you need the second bathroom, You will find that you will want the storage space)
