New Window Installation '06 Fleetwood Discovery

All,

I just received 2 new windows that I ordered from Duncan Systems that I will be replacing on my 2006 Fleetwood Discovery due to the fact that they have fogged up. Think I've pretty much had all the windows replace on my coach at this point.

The new windows came with a roll of black foam tape about 1/4" wide. The tape also has an adhesive backing. Does anyone know where the foam tape goes when installing the new window?

Appreciate any advice you have regarding where the foam tape goes as well as overall installation advice. I plan on installing them this weekend.

Thanks,

Mike

I would call them. Duncan is part of Lippert. Their website lists a phone number for customer service:

I have an 07 Excursion and have replaced all the windows. The tape you have is probably a seal that goes between the lip around the window and the side of your coach. As you pull the window tight against the side, the tape forms a seal so you do not have to use caulk around the window. For me the hardest part of changing the window was taking down the shade and valance to gain access to the window. Once the inner frame is off some windows almost fell out and others I had to run a thin plastic putty knife around the outside of the window to break it free. It is a two person job. Hope this helps.

Thanks so much for the advise Computerguy and HRF. I was able to install both windows and the foam was for the outer lip on the side that goes flush to my coach. The install was pretty straight forward. Replaced the small window next to the passenger seat and the one just behind that which was a larger one.

HRF- I see you responded to my post from last year about replacing my entry door interior plastic skin. I saw you responded and said you replaced yours. Did you do that in the past couple of years? Contacted Fleetwood and they said Atwood no longer manufactures the original inner door skin and it is now manufactured by Challenger Door. Fleetwood said it is not an exact fit but close. Trying to figure out what not being an exact fit means.

Appreciate your assistance.

Regards,

Mike
