Newbie search

We are Newbies looking for our first coach and planning on becoming full timers next summer. One of our most important criteria is a decent size galley, since we both like to cook and plan to fix most of our own meals. One of the possibilities we have looked at is an older (2003-2005) Fleetwood Excursion. Would be interested to hear any comments, especially problems.

Any Particular reason you picked Fleetwood Excursion ? Did you see a particular floor plan in one you liked? Which one?

I could only find this one at the moment....and it doesn't have a particularly big kitchen that I see. Knowing that many full timers cook outside on the grill most of the time, would that change your opinion one way or the other for a large kitchen? How do you define large kitchen? Lots of counter top? Island? Or something else?

Some versions of the Fleetwood Excursion have a really nice galley - but not all. The one I am referring to did. And yes, I know we will cook outside a lot, but there are enough things we like to fix that do not lend themselves to a grill. Living in Central California we use a grill a LOT this time of year, but we know we will want to really use the RV kitchen too. And altho we are newbies to RVing, we have plenty of experience dealing with outdoor cooking, including the good ole Coleman 2 burner. And what happens if it is pouring down rain?
I am just trying to get a feel from Fleetwood owners. Are Fleetwood owners in general happy with older models?
