No Power to Tow or Trailer

Hello,

Before I go digging for the book thought I would ask the question here. Used to have power to the trailer lights when it was hooked up to the coach, as well as the toad. Lately when I plug in either the trailer or the toad, no lights at all for either. Toad lights work when not connected to the coach for towing purposes. Thought in the beginning that maybe it was the wire from the toad to the trailer, however; then I plugged in the trailer to tow the golf cart and again, no lights on the trailer.

Is there a fuse somewhere that could be blown and would anyone know in particular where it was located?

Thanks

On my 0 Excursion I lost the brake and turn on the left side I found the fuse under the dash. But first I would get a test light and test each output on the plug on the coach, then plug the cord in and test that. That way you eliminate each link in the connection. Good luck.

Thanks Pat, I'm going to go out and purchase one of those things and try it out.

Make sure you have a good ground when you hok up the test light, there should be one lug in the coach plug that is always HOT. On mine and on the Phaeton it is the one at the 1 o'clock position when looking at the socket at the rear of the coach.

Okay, had the son go out with his hand held tester thing. He tested all the breakers first under the hood, found a 20AMP that was blown. He then tested the round plug wire on the back of the coach that hooks up to the toad and trailer. No power to the plug so we replaced the 20 AMP fuse up front in the engine bay. Still no power to the coach plug on the hitch. Any other ideas or locations of fuses?

Thanks

Under the dash, and in the compartment where the batteries and electronics are there is a panel on my Excursion.

Pat,

Nothing under the dash, looked there. There was a panal above the dash between the window and the instrument cluster that pops off and has fuses in it. All checked out okay according to his meter.

I may have to have my Mobile RV guy check this one out for me.
