No propane to anything
I just purchased a 2007 Excursion 40E and cannot get the furnaces to work. The stove doesn't light and there are not any lights on the propane monitor on the floor. The tank level gauge in the front doesn't function either. Hopefully they are all related to one simple problems. Any ideas? Filled propane so I know that isn't the problem. Also tried Emergency Gas Switch, near rear fill, flipping it both ways.

I'm not sure what MH you have but in ours, you have to have the "main" and the "auxiliary" switches in the "on" position to open the valves in the gas line. Having them in the "off" position shuts off the valve.

Welcome to irv2 and the FW family. It could be a fuse ( it was in my BCC ( battery control panel ) in my Bounder ) or it could be the detector. They have a life of 5-7 years. Call FW and they will email you a wiring / fuse diagram 800-322-8216.
Good luck
Cliff

If the tank was recently filled it could be vapor locked. Open the bleeder valve and let it vent until you get the fog of the propane venting out. Then start with the stove. You should be able to hear the gas from the burner area.

That's your answer. Most likely, the LP detector, when on and no warning, it should close a solenoid and open a valve on the LP system.
It's for safety. If it's off/no operating correctly then it is able to shut off LP for safety.
Fix the LP detector, and you'll probably be good.

Do you think the tank level monitor not functioning is an unrelated problem or is power not getting to that also?

Sometimes the solenoid for LP cutoff and the gauge wiring share a ground, so possible?

Spoke with Fleetwood today and they recommended checking fuses in the Battery Breaker Box by the chassis batteries. Both 3amp fuses were blown for the LP detectors and popped again when I replaced them after turning the aux and main batteries back on. Any ideas where to look before I call Fleetwood in the morning? Thanks

For something that is short circuited. Where, no idea. What other 12V things are off along with the LP detector?

Finally found the problem!!!!!! The CO Detector was shorted enough to even heat up the new 9volt battery to heat up and start smoking. The short would blow the fuses in the battery control box for the LP Detector which is linked to the tank monitor and the shut off for the LP. Disconnected the CO detector, replaced fuses for LP detector....Everything started working. New CO detector on order.
