I'm sure it's been done, but you may end up having to replace two tires since you'll be placing a double load on the remaining tire.

Why remove it, I limped along for about 5mi going slow one time when an inner tire was flat. It worked fine but I was real careful. My wife followed in the toad and kept a close eye on the single tire and we were on the radios all the time.

Yea dont remove it. Just go slow. Done it before also.
