Norcold Fridge...

quit this afternoon!!!!!!

4 door w/ice maker unit. On the road the LP gas did not kick in.
Ran the generator, showed a use of 5-7 amps being used.

20-30 minutes later, showed 1 amp being used. Did not come back-up
to the 5-7 amp usage.

No LP/AC alarms, no fault indications on the door panel

Any help would be a great help.

Thanks in advance,

Norm

I have a Norcold 1200. It quit a while back without providing any error codes. Took it in for repair. Needed a $10.00 part to fix. Norcold would not sell the part to my repair person. Told him that he had to install a retro fit kit. Installed the retro fit kit and its been working fine since.

Check the 120 volt plug in the outside refrigerator compartment for proper voltage. Make sure all connections in the compartment are tight. If you find there is no voltage to the plug, check the breaker.

I don't know the part number, The service guy I took it to, talked them into giving him the retro fit kit free, and he passed this price along to me. Did charge me $100 to put it in. Suggest you call Norcold, tech support and ask them if its a DIY job and get the part number. Sorry

All,

Thanks for the input. We're going to "hunker down" for the big wind and rain
event here in Lexington MA.

Will call NORCOLD in the AM to hear what they have to say.

Again,

Thanks

Norm...When you say it quit, do you mean that there is no power to it...In addition to what RJay said, check that you have the correct dc voltage..You need at least 10.5 volts to the contol board...Also check the ac and dc fuses on the control board..

Power is good, hooked to shore power now.
As I said, with the genset is worked for a short period of time.
As I write, the freezer seems to working (finger in the ice maker), seems to be making ice.
Temp in bottom is to high yet to determine if it is also getting colder.
Will check progress with the ice in an hour or so.

The control board needs 12v to light the gas. Check for a blown fuse and believe me, sometimes they can hide it pretty well.

After reading the NORCOLD manual, seems if the fridge will shut down if knocked off kilter.

I caught the rear tire on curb leaving a gas station. Quite a jolt/bump. Could have been the cause.

As I write we are up and running for the past couple of days. Did a wiggle of the thermister, a shake of the wires and the next day we had cold. The next morning we had ice cubes.

Thanks for all who responded.
