Question Okay. What is this?

I recently purchased a 2016 Fleetwood Bounder 35K. I just noticed a wire with either a plug or maybe a microphone hanging down under the dashboard. Can anyone tell me what this is?

Looks like the microphone for the hands free phone in the dash radio.

Interesting that it's just dangling under the dashboard.

Thanks to all for your replies.

My Mic has a little bracket it clips in to on the steering column. You might need to look around and see if there is one somewhere.

It does look like a microphone end on that wire.

I had a much older Bounder (2006) & the wire + connector tucked up under the dash was for a CB. The end on yours doesn't look like what mine did, so that's why I'm thinking it's a mic for something.

On my 2020, you can see it mounted right in the plastic housing to the right of the HU. Possibly a hole in that spot on your system? Or, possibly the previous owners installed a new HU and it was larger?

Microphone found under your dash

I have a Fleetwood Storm of similar vintage. I replaced the combination radio/video screen with an inexpensive radio with Bluetooth, and routed the video feed to a separate screen. The stock unit was so far removed from the driver's line of sight it was a hazard to look at while driving/turning. (Way down to the right of my right knee when driving.)

I came across the microphone when rooting around, and much to my surprise, it connects with my cellphone through the Bluetooth radio to give me hands free phone use.

Don't give up on the microphone. It's a bonus that isn't well documented in what Fleetwood considers a user manual.
Good luck, and maybe I'll see you down the road.

I have a 2016 33C. That is definitely the microphone for when cell phone is connected via Bluetooth. The original clip is likely gone. They were very cheap plastic and did not last long.
