Hi....we're looking at moving up to a Class A from a C-the wife loves the older 30'Bounder gas models-('90-'95).My question-Is there anything in particular that I should be looking for in regards to power/drive train? What about the chassis maker? Also...do any of you do your own mechanical/brake work? I am a automotive mechanic by trade & I do my own work on my Class C now.Just wondering how much harder it was to work on these rigs. I have many more questions but don't want to make you all doze off in front of the monitor. Thanks in advance...

Andy: Chassis mfr. is a personal choice. I would step up to a 96 and get the Chev 454 Vortec. We have a pace arrow 34 ft. with that engine. Bounder and Pace shared many floorplans and the 34 with no slide is a real winner

Andy,

I agree with moisheh that a 1996 or later Bounder with the 7.4 liter (454) Vortec motor would be a big improvement over the old 454 CID. We had a '96 Flair with the newer motor and it was quite powerful and fuel efficient (a little either side of 10 MPG).
