Opinion Please on AC Tradition

As some of you may know, we sold our RV and are looking at others. I came across a 40' 2000 American Tradition in what appears to be in excellent condition with 56000K.

Does anyone have an opinion on these coaches? Are there any issues you can bring to light? Anything to look out for? Common problems?

Anything you can offer is greatly appreciated.

Well, with "56000K" miles, I'd expect it to need a few things....
just kidding, I know you mean kilometers for us sutherners !

but look at the service records, take it for a test drive, figure out if you like the floor plan and figure out if a 12 year old used coach is what you want and enjoy...

but @ roughly 4666 k per year, is that a lot of driving ?

or if 56000K miles - what's that 56,000,000 ?~!? whew !!!

I think he meant 56K meaning 56,000 miles or 56,000 kilometers, which is low miles ether way.

I have had four American Coach's, they are very well built and thought out. Service is excellent and factory support is very good. The early years are very fuel efficient and will surprise you. I would strongly suggest a set of Koni shocks, Money well spent. American Coach Association (ACA) is a strong group with reasonable dues and great rallys, National Rally's have free factory support with parts and labor on the coach itself. PM me with your number if it helps.

American Coach is Fleetwoods luxury brand and in 2000 the American Tradition was their "entry level" luxury coach. They were quite popular and are well-built with many of the top features of its day. If it suits your needs, I think you will like it very much.

336muffin gave good info as well. I'll add that there is also a very active American Coach owners group on Yahoo Groups and its a great place to get brand specific info.

Sent you a PM 336muffin.

Yes I meant (actually) 52,680 miles. They are asking $56,000.

Not my offer but..... Wondering what's a fair amount to pay in great condition.
