Overhead "puck" Lights

Good Morning all,

We have a New to us 2013 American Coach Tradition 42M

Some of the overhead ceiling lights need to be replaced, they are flickerig. The lens is just about 3" and on most can be easily removed, they just unscrew.

My problem is once removed Im not sure if the base that is left in the ceiling, screws in or is the kind with the large spring clips.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also the model number and if you have purchased any where did you find the best Price.

Thanks for the Help

You'll need to replace the entire fixture. They are not that expensive, and you can get them from REV, your coaches manufacturer. Go to revrvparts.com.

Maybe just replace the bulbs? I went to LED in the puck light and way better.

Broker, are the LEDs built-in to the base?

I have a 2008 American Tradition which has a frosted glass cover and a metal base. It takes a G4 bi-pin halogen bulb. I'm in the process of replacing these with LEDs, but that had been difficult as I am very picky as to color temperature and brightness. Most of the ones from Amazon are all over the map as far as color temp and most are made with eletrolytic caps which have a lifetime much less than the LEDs.

So I am making my own in 2700k, 95CRI and 1.5W. I'm hoping to sell them one day

If your bases have built-in LEDs, then you likely have to repair or replace them.

I've replaced about at least a dozen of the led puck 3" lights the OP has mentioned on my Discovery. They are pulled down out of the ceiling hard with a med size flat blade. Unscrew the globe first.. There is a 2 wire connector behind. I got 18 free under warranty from the supplier 6 years ago. They are slightly better quality.
Also Ive just replaced the 9 element led with the same or use a COB LED that will fit inside the metal fixture. Wiring required but are brighter.

Overhead "puck" lights

I have had trouble with these lights as Fleetwood put them in my 2016 Southwind. I have to take the lens off, flick them with my finger to get them to come back on, or replace them. Fleetwood has the same fixtures to replace them but they act the same. AND the leads have to be reversed in the replacement to get the polarity right! Sometimes work, most of the time not! So i am going to try to find a replacement that is not these lights and swap out everything in the coach as they go bad. I don't think there is one string of lights (from the same switch) where all of them are on in the entire coach. Thanks Fleetwood - lowest bidder is always best!

I replaced all my ceiling halogens with these:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/6Pcs-Warm-W...-127632-2357-0

Butt-simple, connect 2 wires, no separate bulb & fixture, very thin & light, snaps into standard opening, only 3W. I chose the warm white because I don't like the cold, bluish light. Click image for larger version

Broker, I replaced all of my bulbs with LEDs from brightideaventures.com. they are very helpful in choosing the right bulb for your needs.

I have a 2006 Fleetwood Southwind and wanted to change out all overhead lights with the most current technology. Got 2 sets of these and they are great! Adjustable color temp and brightness. Comes with a remote, but can also be preset so the RV switch will turn them on at the last set color and brightness. Very affordable. I'm actually planning to buy a 3rd set to add a couple more lights and keep the rest for spares.

Broker, if you do replace your puck lights I would be interested in buying a couple of the lens. I have 1 to fall out and break.
