Pace Arrow bedroom slide will not move

just before leaving for Myrtle Beach this am , moved in bedroom slide, heard a pop, now no movement. Motor runs, both the shaft of the motor and the end thru the gear move but the gear does not move? how do I remove the gear? I am guessing that the gear has failed? the top of the slide is all in but the bottom is out about an inch. I can push or pull it a bit. Any help on how to get this out is greatly appreciated

thank you Gary

You should be able to manually get the slide in. Mine has a square shaft that I can release the gear motor and then place a crescent wrench on the square shaft, rotate that and manually bring the slide in.

Popped a pin pr key on the shaft? Owner's manual should tell you the procedure to crank the slide in by hand.

One slim possibility...
If those are Power Gear assemblies, there is a lever on the end of the motor opposite the shaft with the gear on it. It looks like a big tab, maybe 2"X3" or so.
That is a "brake release"...or at least I think that's what it's labeled.
It's meant to be used if you want to manually crank the slide in.
It disconnects the motor/gear drive from the shaft, allowing the shaft to be turned.
It's possible that the tab has slipped into the "free" position, disengaging the motor/gear.

Thanks for the help. It was a broken roll pin holding the gear on the shaft. I did not see a way to disengage the motor to manually move slide with 3/4 wrench, so I had to remove the motor to turn the shaft and get the gear off. Got it done and left for MB at 2:30, there now loving life. Thanks again for the replies it is so comforting to know you can get help.
