Pace Arrow windshield popped out

So my windshield popped out and I took it to the glass shop. They told me that because of the flex in the front cap is too excessive and the window opening was cut to big that it will be $8k to fix. Has anyone else had a problem with there windshield and how they fixed it. any info is appreciated.

Had windshield crack. Supposedly from to sharp a turn going into rv park. Didn't crack until next day. Was told same thing that windows were not square. New glass put in by good window company in Melbourne fl..Turned out second window crack ed in a week just sitting still. Turned out first teck did not clean out bottom track and left small piexe of glass in track. Company forman replaced glass and have had zero problem for 3 yrs and 6000+ miles. In fl no charge for broken window. Dont believe all you hear. Good luck.Click image for larger version

In my fifteen years as service manager we had 1 allegro that had to go back to red bay because the hole was too large. #1 what year is your coach. If the hole is too large The windshield should pop out within months, if not weeks. If
several years old, the question becomes, how did it stay in so long. It is not uncommon for windshields to pop out after several years of flexing. Most windshield shops that work on motorhomes polyeurathane the windshields in place to keep them from popping out. Why don't the motorhome manufacturers do this. Time! A motorhome should sit for 24 hours to let the sealant cure. (actually if you go back to the factory with a windshield fitting problem, The factory will most times polyeurathane the new windshied in.) Talk to several local dealers and find out who they use and if they polyeurathane the windshields in.

Its a 1998. I want to just replace the gasket and have it seals properly. See how long it stays in place.

So it is a 1998 and the hole is too large which caused the windshield to pop out after 20 years. If the hole was too large, the windshield would have been popping out two or three times a year. Your "friends" at the shop were going to slightly build up the edge of the fiberglass in a small area and then polyeurathane the windshield in place. Then pocket 8 thousand dollar. They are not so stupid as to think a windshield would stay in place for 20 years in a oversize hole.
