This is becoming a bit comical.

I've attached another photo below - this of the second board of the control panel stack. There are no components on the backside of either of the two boards.

I'm not sure how else to say it but admit that I've only been speaking English for about fifty years. I see the diagram and completely agree that it shows a fuse on the control panel. I also see the actual control panel, held it in my hands, and took pictures of it (attached to this thread). Do any of you see a fuse or any component marked as XF1 or XF5?? I cannot.

I really appreciate the help and suggestions and I don't mean to sound like a complete jerk. However; I cannot understand how pictures of the actual component can be so easily dismissed. Especially when we all know how unreliable manufacturer documentation can be.

The really great news is that the whole fuse issue does not make a bit of difference. I found the problem and the system is working. Perhaps we can celebrate that?? I am.

You may not have any fuses on the KEY PAD, but I'll bet that there are fuses on the controller that drives the wire harness to the solenoid block. You haven't posted a photo of that yet.

Mystery solved. The fuse XF1 was not added until the 11/1995 version of the Key pad. The older Controller does have the fuses shown in the manual diagrams. (XF1 through XF7)

I'm glad you were able to get it working without having to dig out that controller.

BTW - you are aware that the instrument cluster (hump) can be lifted and tilted back so you can get further under the dash, aren't you?

No one is trying to make you look like a jerk. There are a very, very few people on these forums that are jerks. thankfully it is a small number. The idea is not to make you look bad, but to figure out what is going on. I posted on the first post that the fuse had three legs. I knew it only had two, but my fingers typed three when my head said two. Thankfully nobody made me out to be an idiot because of a typo. You are correct, there are no fuses on either board. They may be on the "lost" board. Or as you said they may not be any at all. It would not be a first, for a print to be wrong. We are all just glad you figured it out.
