Possible Shorted Outlet '99 Pace Arrow Vision

Hello,
I have a 1999 Fleetwood Pace Arrow Vision.

To preface this, we've had an issue with shore power not working if our marine batteries were below a certain ammount of charge for some reason.

But yesterday when I woke up, I found that one of the cats had somehow spilled water and some seems to have possibly gotten into the outlet that is beside the entrance.
Since then, we realized our shore power was off and the batteries were draining and only running off the solar array. We charged the marine battery, but as soon as I turned on the gopower inverter I saw the battery start draining excessively.

We are thinking there's a short in the outlet and we need to turn it off and possibly replace it. Someone else advised the gfi in the marine battery may have been tripped.

Id appreciate any advice on this.

Electrical issues are difficult to troubleshoot and unless you're well-versed you will need a professional. Aside from your cats being part of the problem I don't believe what you're describing is a short despite the spilled water. Rationale: If it were a short, circuit protection (GFCI, fuse, or circuit breaker) would have stopped the short dead in its tracks. Since your issue is associated w/shore pwr and your house batteries, I believe your problem is with the converter or inverter/converter combination which recharges the house batteries.

Do your house batteries exhibit the same characteristics when on generator power? Do they charge? Since you say that shore power doesn't work when your batteries are too low, how do they get recharged? With solar? Is solar a recent mod? Maybe it's how your solar is wired that is preventing charging while on shore power ... Too many 'cats' to be able to effectively troubleshoot. A reputable shop or mobile repair will certainly help narrow it down and get things working again.

Good luck

The only logical explanation I can come up with is a shore power problem. If the water in the outlet turned off shore power, then is the "shore power" outlet a GFCI? or is it on a GFCI breaker? The first step is confirming the power is still on at the shore power. Is it a regular 15 or 20A outlet? 30A? 50A? Is this ONE shore power outlet you're having issues with? or multiple locations at different times? If it's 15 or 20A, plug in a small appliance to confirm. Then work our way into the RV issues.
